The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is coming to an unfortunate end due to the depletion of the $14.2 billion budget allocated by Congress. As a result, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced May 2024 as the final month for the ACP discount.
During this wind-down period, ACP households will receive three notices detailing the impact on their service and billing. These notices are crucial to prepare consumers to explore alternative options, such as switching to lower-cost plans or other low-income programs. Importantly, internet service providers are not allowed to charge termination fees if ACP households decide to end their service contracts early.
Even though the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is ending, we remain committed to ensuring reliable connectivity for our customers. In Oklahoma, we proudly offer Lifeline phone services and affordable communication solutions for eligible low-income households.
Due to sharing many of the same eligibility requirements those currently enrolled in the lifeline program may qualify for The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) also.
